<image:title>Services - Existential PsychoTherapy</image:title>
<image:caption>Whether done individually, with a partner, or as part of a group, therapy is an opportunity to be met, to be seen, and be heard. Allowing an existential and philosophical framework to this deeply human experience can encourage us to access meaning, find belonging, explore purpose, and to connect more deeply with ourselves and others. This humanistic and depth-oriented approach tends to resonate more fully with clients who already hold an deeper leaning: those who like to question and explore, hold interest in patterns (or may experience a stuckness in their lives), and are driven by curiosity towards meaning-making. Additional information for these services, including rates, are described on the FAQs page.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services - Training & facilitation</image:title>
<image:caption>Some of our best ideas takes shape when knowledge is shared. While availability is limited, I am open to consultation around virtual and in-person training needs related to topics including integration of our personal and professional selves, bibliotherapy techniques, existential conceptualization in individual and couples work, and mental health in the workplace. My approach leans heavily on a community-first orientation, bridging elements of mindfulness and self-care practices, attachment-style management, and solution-focused communication skills. Costs for training and facilitation varies, to be determined jointly; trades are also accepted and encouraged for this type of educating work. Kathryn’s next training will be hosted by the Missouri Mental Health Counselors Association in March 2026, focusing on the logistical, ethical, and human aspects of dying as a therapist. The virtual session will be co-lead with Chaz Franke and offered for $35, $20 for MMHCA members, providing NBCC-approved CEs.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services - supervision</image:title>
<image:caption>A key part of being an effective human-centered professional is the willingness to vulnerably recognize our own experience of the work: evaluating, developing, and reshaping not only our practices and skills but also our patterns, understandings, and own growth edges. The intention that drives my supervisory work is to bring to conscious awareness all that we don’t know. The heavy-handed existential flair that I bring to my therapeutic work is strongly present in my supervision. Licensure supervision for PLPCs in Missouri is available on a limited basis beginning in Spring 2026, and is negotiated directly with the interested supervisee. Reach out if you are interested in working together this way. I am currently unable to take on master’s-level internship students.</image:caption>

<image:title>Services - consultation</image:title>
<image:caption>Individual case or professional consultation outside of the supervisory framework is available at a base rate of $95/hour. These conversations can range from practical knowledge - including clinical work, individual marketing, business start-up, organizational and human resource-related questions - to more personal and value-driven development. Trades are accepted and encouraged for this type of consultation work. I am currently a part of a closed monthly consultation group with seasoned members of the St. Louis therapeutic community; if you are interested in working together in a group, or in a more on-going mentorship dynamic, please reach out with your proposal.</image:caption>

<image:title>Meet the Therapist - Kathryn Beskrowni</image:title>
<image:caption>Hailing from Boston, Massachusetts, I completed my undergraduate degree in English and Education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, with a focus on written communication and language equity. After some time in corporate, educational, and non-profit realms, I made what felt like a dramatic shift to the Midwest and to the counseling field. It turned out to not be that dramatic at all, for better or for worse, and through the University of Missouri-St. Louis I earned a dual degree in community mental health and school counseling, focusing on human development. Currently a Nationally Certified Counselor, I am licensed to practice in the states of Missouri (License: 2020022444) and New Hampshire (License: 4671) and hold active membership with the National Philosophical Counseling Association. Additionally, as of February 2025 I am the board secretary for the Missouri Mental Health Counselors Association and will welcome members to the Midwest Humanistic Counseling Association in 2026, a professional organization that I have founded. My training includes certification in bibliotherapy techniques, experiential training and consultation through the Existential-Humanistic Institute based in California, and robust relational work incorporating Gottman, somatic, and psychodynamic approaches. My current learning and practice is focused on integration of presence, perception, and cognition, blending overt creative acts such as painting (thanks to Janes and Pang Atelier studio in South City), Vipassana meditation practices (silence and interoception), and clinical frameworks including Mentalization and Logic-Based Therapy (an offspring to Rational-Emotive Behavior Therapy). Now a South City resident in both home and office, I spend most of my time out of the therapy room exploring the neighborhoods and green spaces of St. Louis with my dog, Penny, reading stories and engaging with members of the American Folklore Society, and actively seeking out the best cup of coffee.</image:caption>

<image:title>Meet the Therapist - Arlo</image:title>
<image:caption>Unlike Kathryn, Arlo is a Midwest native. Born in December of 2025, Arlo is beginning his therapy journey early and is showing great promise! A pretty laid back guy, he brings a good deal of excitement to welcoming clients into the room but really finds his sweet spot curled up by their feet. Arlo is American Kennel Club certified, scoring a resounding 4.5 on his Puppy Aptitude Test. When he is old enough, he will pursue training and certification through the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. You can read more about the benefits of companion animals from the American Psychiatric Association, but we’ll close out for now with a quote from his namesake, Arlo Guthrie, that speaks to a shared theory of therapeutic change: “Basically, I think you need two things to get by in this world: a sense of humor and the ability to laugh when your ego is destroyed.”</image:caption>

<image:title>Home - The term “speakeasy” is rooted in the necessity of avoidance, particularly of the law but in broader strokes of any question of safety or stepping beyond the realms of social norms and queues. That self-protection was necessary then, and has been for so many of us, but what if a different practice became available? What if we allowed ourselves to reclaim speaking easy as more than an act self-protection, but one of self-love and exploration? What if this practice became more than just a means of remaining alive, but one of living more fully with and as ourselves?</image:title>
